The playing system is a demonstration
of the new team's dynamics
For
ATTACK:
The principle of switching from defense
to attack is made almost perfect:
-
Keeping
the ball individually by slowing down;
-
Controlling
the ball by short passing in a group of 3-4 players around the ball;
-
Controlling
the ball in group, keeping the opponent in positions and advancing to the
goal successfully
The
attack is done by small groups of 2-3-4-5 players, in various parts of the
field, according to the opponent’s position, number and value.
The
skills are very simple, developed fast:
-
Individual
penetration, shoot, pass back, or cross over the defenders & goalkeeper.
-
Combination
of 1-2 and continuing to play in another direction.
-
1-2-1:
fast, simple and total accurate-efficient.
-
1-2
for the 3rd, 4th or 5th players coming to
surprise the opponent.
For
DEFENSE:
The principle of switching from Attack to
Defense is made also, almost perfect, this time, with entire team, in the same
time, organizing the team on 2 lines of 4 with a sweeper in front of the lines:
-
One
player is pressing the ball, to delay the attack and organize own team.
-
The
rest of the players are getting in Zone, marking “man-to-man” the
players from their zone
-
A
very special skill-strategy for playing in defense is that the forwards are
returning with the ball. They are helping the team in defense,
becoming numerically superior and trying to tackle the ball, without fault
(the new revelation of the Argentina World Cup for Youth). Bottom line
is: attacking in small groups of 2-5 players and defending with the group of
minimum 9 players and maximum 11!
For
SET PLAYS
In general, passing from attack to
defense and from defense to attack, is actually passing through a SET PLAY:
-
Direct
& Indirect kicks (including penalty, Ghana missed in the final game)
-
Corner: when the team
must stay in three lines for attack or and for defense.
-
Throw
– In, etc. with maximum efficiency, simple and very fast, to surprise the
opponent.
