Individual Player's Self-Evaluation

Successful players have been the product of their own talent, ambition, preparation, dedication to football and, of course, their coaches, managers and supportive environment.

A good player is defined by:

Natural gifts for football
  • control, watch, pass/dribble or shoot
  • creativity and tactical intelligence
  • physical capacity and energy to compete
Body development type
  • balanced
  • upper body (arms and trunk)
  • lower body (legs)
Physical capacities
  • speed, agility, mobility
  • power, strength, balance
  • endurance, stamina, energy
Personality
  • desire to compete/emotional balance
  • self-motivation
  • concentration for the duration of the game
Social requirements
  • time dedicated to soccer
  • consumption of alcohol, cigarettes, drugs
  • football as second nature
Environment
  • parent support
  • coaching/mentoring
  • team and club

If you are a player, try to think about all these factors and evaluate them by using a scale from 1 to 10, where 1 is the lowest and 10, the highest score.
